Albert Earl Gross, 87, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Tell City, Indiana.
He was born September 16, 1929 to the late Claudina H.(Fortwendel) and Albert John Gross.
A life time member of St. Pius Church he attended St. Pius Grade School and was a 1948 graduate of Troy High School.
Al graduated from of the University of Evansville in 1952, with a degree in Accounting. After graduation from U of E, Al enlisted for four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, from July 22, 1952 to June 18, 1956. Al was assigned to Basic Training at Lackland Airforce Base in San Antonio, Texas. While stationed at Lackland, he was assigned to the Human Resouces Research Center, AFB for 2 ½ years. The last 1½ years he was assigned to the 48th Fighter Wing in Chaumont, France.
Al was employed at General Electric Co. and MPD in Owensboro, KY. For 38 years. His other interests included gardening, collecting antiques, and watching sports.
He is survived by lifelong best friend and caregiver Ruth Roesch, cousins and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents, grandparents, and aunts and uncles.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at St. Pius Catholic Church with burial immediately following in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 pm Monday, June 12, 2017 and from 8:30 to 9:15 am Tuesday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
