He was born February 22, 1942 to the late, Frederick C. Evrard and Shirley (Pyle) Evrard-Mathena.
A 1962 graduate of Tell City High School, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran that served on aircraft carrier, Independence. Allen was united in marriage on September 5, 1964 to Bette Scott, who survives. An electrician, he retired from General Electric in 2000, after 34 years.
He was a member of VFW Post 2939, he sang in the Tell City Barber Shoppers and Perry County Community Choir. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and fishing with his buddies.
Surviving is his wife, Bette Evrard of Tell City; sons, Brad (Cortney) Evrard of Evansville and Greg (Stacy) Evrard of Spring, TX; sisters, Carolyn (Larry) Evrard-Adams and Martha (Bill) Lehmkuhler, all of Tell City; brother, Frederick M. (Joella) Evrard of Evanston; step brothers, Hal (Gladys) Mathena of Houston, TX and Dennis (Amy) Mathena of Newburgh; step-father, Harold Mathena of Tell City; grandchildren, Sami, Dani, Andi and John Evrard, and due in September, Brintley Allen Evrard.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM CST, Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Pastor Tyrone Edwards will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00-8:00 PM and Wednesday from 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
