She was born in Tell City on May 18, 1922 to the late Mark and Clara (Genet) Marchal.
Alvada had retired from William Tell Woodcrafters and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed pampering her beloved pug, Angel.
Surviving are her children, Terrill (Donna) Laflin of Hendersonville, TN, Mark (Joycelyn) Laflin of Tell City, IN and Debbie Katterhenry (Barry Griffin) of Tell City, IN; a sister, Delores “DeDe” Niehaus of Tell City, IN; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren
Alvada is preceded in death by her husband, Lee “Hack” Laflin; a son, Steve Laflin; her parents; a sister, Regina Kleeman; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Roland Laflin; a son- n-law, Gary Katterhenry.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00-8:00PM and Thursday from 9:00AM until service time at the funeral home.
