Betty Fruehwald Obituary

Betty Lois Fruehwald, 87, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. She was born June 26, 1925 to the late Clarence and Helen (Jordan) Freeman. A 1943 graduate of Tell City High School, she had worked as a cook for Tell City-Troy Township Schools, including Franklin and Newman Schools. She was united in marriage on November 7, 1946 to Emil Edward Fruehwald, who precedes her in death in 1990. Also preceding her in death are brothers, Bob and Melvin Bruce Freeman.

Betty was a 75 year member of First Baptist Church. Always active with her church, she served on the missionary circles, taught Sunday school and served on several church boards. She was also a 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star #272 where she served as Worthy Matron and secretary and treasurer for many years. She was a member of the Gleaners Association and the Daughters of the Nile. Betty enjoyed reading, traveling and being with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Sharon Keilman and husband, Dallas of Tell City, Eddie Fruehwald and wife, Janella of Owensboro; sister, Sue Faulkenberg of Tell City; brother, J.C. Freeman of Grandview; grandchildren, Stephanie Walsh and husband, Kris, Chelsea Fruehwald Lindsay and husband, Robbie, Natalie and Allison Fruehwald; great-grandchildren, Julia and Olivia Walsh.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 18, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. CST at First Baptist Church. Rev. Lee Brown and Eddie Fruehwald will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00-8:00 P.M. with an Order of Eastern Star service at 7:30 P.M. and Monday 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church.
