Bobbie Jean (Purviance) Smith, 74, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. She was born in Chrisney, IN on December 20, 1937 to William “Bill” and Mary Charlene (Graham) Purviance.
She was a 1956 graduate of Troy High School. She was a member of Agape Community Church and enjoyed music, playing piano, sewing and crafts.
She was married to her second husband, King Smith on May 5, 1971, who precedes her in death. Also preceding her in death are her parents; first husband, Edward Braunecker in 1970; a sister, Linda Faye Kyle and an infant brother.
Surviving are her children, Eddy Joe (Angie) Braunecker, Bob Braunecker, Cindy (Charles) Blanton and Steve (LaJuana) Braunecker all of Tell City, IN, Jenny (Matthew) Rosenbaum of Richland, IN, Keith (Lisa) Smith of New Salisbury, IN, Teresa (Augie) Stanton of Longview, TX and Sarah Haynes of Pasadena, TX; brothers, William “Bill” Purviance, Jr. of Texas, and Gary Purviance of Grandview, IN; sisters, Lois Thomas of Tell City, IN, Ruth Weber of Jasper, IN, Sylvia Hyde of Tell City, IN, Sue Purviance of Chandler, IN, Evie Purviance of Texas and Debbie Dormeier of Evansville, IN.
17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. CST at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Pastor Bob Campbell will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
