Charlotte Borders Obituary

Charlotte O'Bryan Borders, 71, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Deaconess VNA Plus in Evansville.

Charlotte was born July 24, 1944 in Hammond, IN to the late Arthur and Bella (Pereira) O'Bryan. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Pat Etienne; brothers-in-law, Paul Kiszka and Wally Knapik.

Charlotte was married on April 18, 1964 to Gene Borders. She was a member of St. Paul Church, where she was in the quilter's group and the Lincoln Trail Quilt Guild. She had served as Past President of the Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and was a lifetime Girl Scout, being awarded the Thanks Badge, the highest honor given to an adult Girl Scout.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Gene Borders of Tell City, IN; children, Lenore Donaldson (John) of Durham, NC, Charles Borders (Kathie) of Key Largo, FL, Michaeline Joiner (Walker Chandler) of Owesboro, KY, T. Earl Borders (Tonya) of Newburgh, IN and Elizabeth Conner (Steve) of Hamilton, OH; brothers, Tony O'Bryan (Janet) of Olathe, KS, Rory O'Bryan (Pam) of Indianapolis, IN and Denny O'Bryan (Linda) of Harbor Springs, MI; sisters, Terry Kiszka of Houston, TX, Debbie Knapik of Hot Springs, AR, Martha Sapp (Jeff) of Merrillville , IN, Annie Scofield (Scott) of Griffith, IN and Mary Michelle Miller of Cary, NC; brother-in-law, Jerry Etienne of Hamersville, OH; 11 grandchildren, Chris (Elise Alboro), Nick, Tyler, Matt, Natalie, Kyle, Katy, Jon, Sophie, Davis and Emery; and one great-grandchild that is due in December.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will also be Saturday from 8:00-10:45AM at St. Paul Catholic Church.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Deaconess Foundation at 600 Mary Street Evansville, IN 47747, or to St. Paul Church.
