Joan Norma Huebschmann, M.D. ,69, of Madison, Wisconsin, formerly of Tell City, IN. passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Agrace Hospice Care in Madison. She was born August 2, 1943 in Spencer County, IN. to Harry & Elsie (Stein) Huebschmann. She graduated Valedictorian from Tell City High School in 1961. She went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from the University of Evansville in 1965. She received her medical degree in pathology from Indiana University School of Medicine while training at Clarian Indiana University Hospital in 1970 & in 1973 at Madison General Hospital.At the age of 14 Joan began a passion with her family genealogy that would take her on numerous travels to Germany & to research over 500 years of her heritage. She was the past president & member of the Madison Genealogy club & an avid Schafkopf & Euchre card player. She has been instrumental in inspiring her family & friends to reach into the depths of their past. Her legacy & dedication will live on for generations to come. Shortly after her death she became an author of “St. John’s Lutheran Church-Early deaths 1851 to 1903”, transcribed by Dr. Joan Huebschmann 2012.She was preceded in death by her father in 2007. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brothers, Glenn (Marge) of Houston, TX. & Ray (Elinor) of Atlanta, GA., 2 nieces, Lisa & Kim & 1 nephew, Robert, numerous relatives & friends.The family would like to thank the staff of Agrace Hospice & her Madison friends for their love & dedication to Joan during her illness.A memorial service will be held at 10a.m. Saturday, January 26th at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tell City, with visitation at 9a.m. Burial at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Evanston, IN.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund (Reflection Area),12308 E.
