Dunward Ruben Howe, 91, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was born November 7, 1920 to the Elisha and Mary (Huff) Howe. He was a WWII Navy veteran and was retired from the Tell City Street Dept. He was member of the V.F.W. Post #2939.
He is survived by children, Dunward A. Howe, Brenda Jacob and Wayne Howe, of Tell City, Mary Kellems of Troy, Donna Gogel of St. Meinrad, Bill Howe of Owensboro, KY and Georgia Smith of Chrisney; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Hazel Marie (VanHoosier) Howe; grandchildren, Pat Howe and Donnie Jacob; sisters, Grace Hinton and Blanche Dixon; a brother Herschel Howe.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, February 3, 2012 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Pastor Andy Payton will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with military rites by for V.F.W. Post #2939. Visitation will be Thursday 3:00-8:00 PM and Friday 8:30AM until service time at the funeral home.
