Effie Hickerson Obituary
Effie Hickerson, 95, born March 6, 1917 in Haswesville, KY, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City. She was united in marriage on July 1, 1940 in Louisville, KY to Theodore "Doc" Hickerson. Effie was a registered and certified antique dealer and owner of "Yester-Years Antique Shop". She attended Evangelical United Church of Christ and was a member of Tell City Historical Society, DAR, and a charter member of Tri Kappa. She also helped her husband, Doc with the Schweitzer Fest in Tell City.
Effie is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore "Doc" Hickerson; parents, Austin and Mary Jane (Ramsey) Jarrett; siblings, Carl and Arnold Jarrett, Pearl Weatherholt, Agnes Conner, Louise Northenor, Marie White and Olivia Mirdo.
She is survived by a brother, Raymond Jarrett of Fort Wayne, IN and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with visitation from Noon until service time. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Larry VanCamp will officiate.
