Elsie Huebschmann Obituary

Elsie E. Huebschmann, 96, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016 at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City.

She was born in Evanston, IN on April 20, 1919 to the now late, Phillip and Martha (Mulzer) Stein.

Elsie was united in marriage on April 23, 1939 to Harry L. Huebschmann, who proceeds her in death. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Huebschmann, M.D.; sisters, Victoria Stein, Ruth Dersch and Norma Lottes; and a brother, Elmer Stein.

Elsie was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and was active in the

Women's Guild. She had taught Sunday School for 30 years and sang in the choir at St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading the Bible, making rugs, quilting, gardening and playing cards.

Surviving are her children, Glenn Huebschmann and wife, Marge of Houston and Ray Huebschmann and wife, Elinor of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Lisa Goeppner and husband, Bryan of Jasper, Kim Wilhite of Jacksonville,FL and Rob Huebschmann of Tahoe, CA; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10a.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Pastor Daniel Gadbaw will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Johns Lutheran Church Cemetery in Evanston.

Visitation will be Wednesday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home from 3-7p.m. and Thursday, 9-9:30a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or St. Johns Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
