Erma Phillips passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Professional Care Rehab Center in Dale.She was born October 11, 1920 to the late Albert and Margaret (Gebhard) Lambeck.
Erma was united in marriage on February 19, 1944 to Frederic Phillips. He preceded her in death in 2007. She ran her own upholstery business out of her home for many years and was skilled at making old furniture look beautiful again. She was a lifelong member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Fulda; with her grandfather being a founding member, American Legion Auxiliary Post 213 and William Tell Senior Citizens.Erma enjoyed playing cards, scrabble and jigsaw puzzles. She also liked dancing and in her youth, she and her brothers played in a band called "The Anderson Valley Swingsters".
Surviving are her daughters, Cindy (Guy) Smyth of Evansville and Suellen (Jerry) Malone of Tell City; grandchildren, Dr. Erin Smyth of Indianapolis, Ben Smyth of St. Louis, Katie and Meghan Malone of Indianapolis and Lauren Malone of Tell City.
Preceding her in death are her parents and husband, brothers, Paul and Arlie Lambeckand infant sister Clara.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. CST on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Trinity United Church of Christ in Fulda. Rev. Chip Jahn will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. and Thursday 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
