Gary Feltner Obituary

Gary R. Feltner, 74, passed away January 8, 2014 at his home.

He was born March 20, 1939 to the late E. Ralph and Gladys (McAdams) Feltner.

A 1958 graduate, he served in the U.S. Army National Guard and the U.S .Army for over 6 years. Gary worked in Management for William Tell Woodcrafters, Tell City Chair Company and retired from Spencer Plastics. Gary belonged to several local organizations. In high school he was president of the Golden Arrow Auto Club, in later years he was Past Noble Grand of the I.O.O. F Lodge, Past Governor of #1424 L.O.O.M of which he was a 50 year member. He was also a member of American Legion Post #213, where he served on the funeral detail. Gary enjoyed sports, having played semi-pro independent basketball for two years and coaching his son’s little league baseball teams. Gary coached Little League for 22 years, with a record of 9 city championship wins. He enjoyed playing euchre with an old buddy. He and his wife, Diana enjoyed following auto racing.

Surviving is his wife, Diana (Splater) Feltner of Tell City; sons, Ralph (Belinda) Feltner of Lynnville, and Bob Feltner of Tell City; daughter, Tammy (Daren) Brown of Lamar; grandchildren, Erik and Garrett Brown and Samantha Kreisle; one great-granddaughter, Hadley; his brother Dan (Lana) Feltner of Derby.

Preceding him in death are his parents and a brother, Jim.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. CST on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Sister Dea Goud will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00-8:00 P.M. , with a Moose service at 6:30 PM and Saturday 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
