Gary McMahon Obituary

Gary McMahon, 74, formally of Tell City, passed away Friday March 29, 2014 in North Fort Myers, FL.

He was born August 19, 1939 to the late Wilbur "Wib" and Billie (Coombes) McMahon. Also preceding him in death was his wife of 40 years, Virlee (Becher) McMahon and brothers, Bill and Don Page.

Gary was a man of many talents. He worked as a courier for the Iberia Bank. While living in Tell City he was involved with the Perry County Arts Council Madrigal Dinners and the Schweitzer Fest plays. Gary was an accomplished piano player and created one-of-a-kind greeting cards and mastered calligraphy. He collected antique pottery and was fascinated by new technology, having to have the most recent iPhone or iPad. He enjoyed cross word puzzles and reading the daily newspaper.

Gary loved to travel, with Spain being his favorite. He celebrated Valentine’s Day in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. He was planning a trip to California in April, Tell City in August and China Later in the year.

Most of all Gary enjoyed socializing and spending time with his many friends. His personality was contagious and people were attracted to him. He had the ability to make anyone laugh and forget their problems. His philosophy was to enjoy the moment day by day. He lived it 100%. He will be greatly missed by many.

He is survived by sisters in law, Susie and Alice Page; nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Ft. Myers, Florida.
