Gene Dickman Obituary

Gene Dickman, 71, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at his home. Born August 13, 1942, Gene was a 1960 graduate of Tell City High School. He had served as a Medic in the Army and was Marine Paratrooper. Gene was married on April 4, 1970 to Liz Sumner, who survives. He retired from Southwire Rod & Cable where he worked as a machinist. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #213. Gene enjoyed fishing, hunting, pitching horseshoes and IU basketball.

Surviving is his wife, Liz Dickman of Tell City; daughter Misty Harris and husband, Ryan of Burlington, IA; grandchildren, Brooke Elizabeth, Emma Jean and Noah Ryan Harris; brothers, Joe , Mike and Tim Dickman, all of Tell City and Barry Dickman of Newburgh; sisters, Trish Kleiser of Tell City and Debbie Foster of Chrisney.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Francis and Velma (Kleaving) Dickman; a brother, Leroy Dickman and a sister, Sharon Conner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CST Saturday, August 31, 2013 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Father Dennis Duvelius will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, with military rites. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. There will be no visitation at the funeral home on Saturday.
