Gordie Aders, 89, passed away April 15, 2017 at Oakwood Healthcare Center.

He was born in Evansville on August 10, 1927, to the late George S. Aders and Sarah Emma Howe Aders.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles, flying, boating, water skiing, and traveling; he had visited all 50 states and Canadian Provinces. He was well loved and admired by his family and friends. He loved to laugh and kept a positive attitude.

Gordie graduated from Bristow High School in 1945; he was president of IUE Local 805 and member of the National Negotiating Committee. As an Army Air Corp Veteran he was proud to be part of the Honor Flight in 2016. He was employment at General Electric 30 Years as an electrician. He also was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City, past post commander of the American Legion Post 213 Tell City. Prior director of the Perry Co. Civil Defense.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Mary Lippert Aders; 2 daughters, Gloria (Dan) Whitlock and Kathy Brenton ; Siblings, Pat Pete, Ginger Coonley, George E. Aders (Bud), and Dan Aders; 13 grandchildren; Brian (Beth) Whitlock, Daren (Christina) Whitlock ; Amanda Brenton Brindle (Richard), Alyson Brenton; Anna Brenton, Aaron (Tatiana) Aders , Zachary (Danielli) Aders, Brooke Aders; Vanessa Aders, Kassi (Jared) Methena, Carley Perryman; Spencer (Jessa) Herzog, Hunter Herzog; 8 great-grandchildren; Amy and Emily Whitlock, Maya and Layla Brindle, Ashton Williams, Lucia Methena, Colton and Dakota Perryman; Surrogate grand-children; Ethan Herzog and Clayton Mogan, Allie and Maddie Holmes, Ian and Carly Jarboe; 4 Nieces and 11 Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Geneva Noone, Charles Aders, Betty Karpowicz and Mary Clinger; his children; LeRoy (Carol) Aders and Dawn (Greg) Zogleman.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Evangelical United Church of Christ. Visitation will be held from 3 - 8 p.m. Wednesday April 19, 2017 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeal Home and from noon to service time Thursday at the Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Animal Shelter and The EUCC Church of Christ or your favorite charity.
