Harold Elder Obituary
Harold Elder, 88, passed away April 4, 2017 at Oakwood Health Campus.
A native of Tell City, he was born April 3, 1929 the son of the late Maurice and Pearl (Peckinpaugh) Elder. He was united in marriage May 28, 1949 in Owensboro, KY to the former Betty Glover.
He was employed at General Electric for 32 years and retired in 1989.
He enjoyed gardening and fishing, was an avid Cubs fan, and loved to play Euchre. He was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church and the Perry County Coon Club.
He is survived by his wife Betty; His daughter, Cathy (Randall) Sandage and his son, Michael (Becky) Elder both from Tell City, IN; 5 grandchildren, Brett, Eric, and Kristen Elder, Lisa Swank and Brian Sandage; one sister, Betty Walton of Greencastle, IN; and 6 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his brothers, Robert and Bernard.
Funeral Services will be at 2 pm Friday, April 7 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with burial in Deer Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 - 7 pm Thursday, April 6 and from Noon to 2 pm Friday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Deer Creek Baptist Church.
