Helen Howe Obituary

Helen Howe, 92, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015.

Helen was born January 26, 1922 to the late Margaret (Schutter) and Russell C. Karney. Also preceding her in death is her husband, Willie E. Howe; a son, William "Billy" Howe; siblings, Maurice, Russell Lee, Charles and Robert Earl Karney, and a sister, Lucille Karney.

She retired from General Electric in 1985 and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 213 and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and IU basketball.

Surviving are her children, Robert "Bob" Howe of Cannelton and Dean (Judy) Howe of Tell City; a brother, Magnus Karney of Tell City; five grandchildren, Debbie, Danny, Jeff and Randy Howe, and Heidi Dixon; nine great-grandchildren, Kristina, Lori and Brad Devillez, Kenneth Kelly, Alexandra, Brody and Cyrus Dixon, Izzie and Abbie Howe.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM CST Friday, January 9, 2015 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Pastor JT Hills will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the V.F.W. Post 2939.
