Herman Reutman, 86, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab Hillcrest in Owensboro.
He was born September 24, 1927 in Ferdinand, IN to the late Joseph and Caroline (Lindeman) Reutman.
A Korean War Army veteran, Herman was united in marriage on July 4, 1959 to Mabel VanWinkle. He was a hodge carrier and worked numerous construction projects throughout Southwestern Indiana. He was a member of Laborer’s International Union Local #561 Evansville, St. Meinrad American Legion Post #366, V.F.W. Post #1114 Evansville, and Indiana Free Mason Lodge #623 Tell City.
Formerly of Evansville and Tell City, Herman had resided the past two years in Owensboro, KY with his caretakers, Linda and Lee C. Berg, Jr.
He is survived by a brother-in-law, Leroy VanWinkle and his wife, Fronie of Tell City; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death is his beloved wife of 51 years, Mabel "VanWinkle" Reutman, sons, Roger Dale, David Allen and a daughter, Gloria Gale; his parents, Joseph and Caroline "Lindeman" Reutman; and a sister, Mary T. Berg.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. CST, Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00-8:00 P.M. and Wednesday from 11:00-A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital and St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
