Jack Michael Joyce 82, passed away Monday October 6, 2014 at his daughter’s home in Crown Point, IN.
He was born in Dover, TN, June 30, 1932 to the late James Oliver and Roxie Anna (Boyd) Joyce He was a graduate of Joplin (MO) High School and attended two years at University of Southern California. Jack was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Dale July 25, 1953.
Jack was given the honorary distinction of the Sagamore of the Wabash. He was a Korean War Army Veteran and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of Kiwanis, Indiana Municipal Electric Association, a lifetime member of NRA, and a member of Elks (including member of the year 78-79). Prior to his retirement, he was COO at Tell City Municipal Utilities.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Shirley of Tell City; his son Jim Joyce of Chesapeake, VA; his daughters Dale Ann Hughes of Indianapolis, Sally Marlene Street of Crown Point, IN and Shawn Alana Niswonger of Tell City; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 A.M. with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Lee Brown will officiate.
