James E. “Jim” Haller, 63, passed away on December 25, 2012 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville. He was born in Tell City, IN on December 3, 1949. Jim was a Vietnam Army veteran. A meat manager by trade, he was previous owner and operator of Minto’s Market and Haller’s Shopworth. He was currently employed at Holiday Foods in Ferdinand and prior to that at the Holiday Foods in Santa Claus. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post #2939, American Legion Post #213 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1624.
Jim enjoyed working, bowling and golfing, watching IU, St. Louis Cardinals and New York Yankees and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by a daughter, Brenda (Allen) Popp of Rome; sisters, Mary “Mry” Haller, Barb Haller and Becky (Joe) Blum all of Tell City, Connie (Larry) Betz of St. Anthony and Judy (John) Raaf of Grandview; granddaughter, Audrey; step grandson, Hunter; nieces and nephews, Julie (Kevin) Rayburn, Joe (Erika) Raaf, Bill (Angie) Blum, Kevin (Jennifer) Blum, Janelle (Steve) Scannell, Breanne VanWinkle (J.B. Arnold); great nieces and nephews, Riley and Lane Spencer, Josie and Nolan Raaf, Megan Blum, Andrew Blum, Kyle and Jared Blum, Lexi Scannell and step great nephews, Kyle and Klay Stevenson.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Edward and Julitta (Dauby) Haller, a sister, Kris Haller and nephew, Danny Blum.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. CST, Saturday, December, 29, 2012 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City, IN. Rev. Dennis Duvielus will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home Friday, December 28, 2012 from 1:00-8:00 P.M. CST and Saturday from 8:30-9:30 A.M. CST.
The Moose will hold a prayer service at 7:45 P.M. on Friday evening.
