She was born July 27, 1920 to the late Fred and Nettie (Muelchi) Ress. Also preceding her in death are her siblings, Robert, William, Walter, Earl, John Ress and Paula Magee.
Jeanette was united in marriage on January 26, 1944 to Amos Rippy. Together with Bill and Othello Ress they were co-owners of The Frigid Whip. She also worked at Peoples Building and Loan and was secretary to the principal at Tell City High School. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, Hoosier Heights County Club and the Tell City Historical Society. She enjoyed IU and St. Louis Cardinals sports and playing cards with her Thursday night bridge club.
Surviving is her husband, Amos Rippy of Indianapolis; daughters, Janet Rippy Hohlt and her husband, Fredrick of Indianapolis and Sally Riddle and her husband, Bruce of Columbus, IN; four grandchildren, Eric, Kurt and Maria Riddle and Suzanne Koefoed; two great-grandchildren, Nela and Isaac Riddle.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M.CST on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Evangelical United Church of Christ. Rev Edward Schadt will officiate.
