Jerry Byrd Obituary
Jerry Brian Byrd, 54, of Indianapolis, previously of Tell City, passed away, Friday, March 1, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.
He was born April 15, 1958 to Thomas and Norma (Hornick) Byrd, who precede him in death.
Jerry was a 1980 graduate of Tell City High School and worked for Northview Church in Carmel, IN, where he was a member. He enjoyed bowling and watching the Indianapolis Colts. Jerry was an active advocate for people with physical disabilities.
Surviving is a brother, Thomas Byrd and wife, Molly of Hardinsburg, KY; an uncle, Pat Alvey and wife, Glenda of Evansvile; aunts, Betty Byrd of Boone, Iowa and Melba McDurmott of Mt. Vernon, IN; niece, Erin Byrd of Hardinsburg, KY and nephew, Seth Byrd of Hardinsburg, KY
Funeral services will be Friday, March 8, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. CST at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Pastor Doug Kizer will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 7 from 2:00-7:00 P.M. and Friday 9:00-11:00A.M. at the funeral home. (All times CST)
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to United Cerebral Palsy.
