Joseph Bernard Biever, 88, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, on his birthday.
He was born in Perry County on March 1, 1925 to George and Ann (Boerste) Biever.
Joseph was a 1944 graduate of Tell City High School and was a WWII Army veteran.
He was united in marriage on October 18, 1949 at St. Marks’s Catholic Church to Marguerite Harpenau. Joseph retired from Tell City Chair Company in 1986 after 40 years. He was an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church, a life member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 213 and V.F.W. Post #2939.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting, playing golf, cards and bowling.
Surviving are his wife, Marguerite Biever of Tell City; children, Kevin Biever and wife, Kim of Cannelton; Diane White and husband, Billy of Lewisport, KY and Gina Braunecker-Winkler and husband, Buddy of Tell City; a sister, Sister Benita Biever of Sisters of Saint Benedict Monastery; Nine grandchildren and Ten great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Anna Biever, brothers, Charles, Edward, Robert and Aloysius Biever and sisters, Mary (Schneider) White and Louise Biever, in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. CST Monday, March 4, 2013 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the American Legion and V.F.W. Visitation will be Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home from 2:00-7:00 PM and Monday from 8:30-9:30 A.M. at the funeral home. The Knights of Columbus will provide a service at 6:30 on Sunday.
