Kevin Aaron Ayer, 52, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at his home, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
A 1981 graduate of Tell City High School, Kevin had worked as a supervisor for Cohen Brothers' at AK Steel. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and arrowhead hunting with his sons. He loved NASCAR and was a huge Kyle Busch fan, and watching Colts football.
Kevin is survived by his sons, Kyle of Newburgh and Tyler of Dale; his mother, Melba Ayer of Tell City; sister, Cindy (Ben) May of Tell City; brother, Mike (Andrea) Ayer of Owensboro, KY; his companion, Janet Peters of Evanston; nephews, Derek and Matthew Ayer, Brent and Bryson May, Jeremy Deeg, and one niece, Amber Giddings of Fairhope, AL.
He was preceded in death by his father, Irel Ray Ayer in 1999.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00PM CST on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, 920 10th Street Tell City. Pastor JT Hills will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-7:00PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to The Kevin Ayer Benefit Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
