Jack was born March 31, 1937 to the late Lizzie (Foster) and Alva McKim.
He was a 1955 graduate of Bristow High School and served as a paratrooper in the Army. On February 5, 1961 he was united in marriage to Doris Huebschman, who survives. Jack retired as a Boilermaker of Local 374. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 213. He enjoyed racing cars, woodworking, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife, Doris McKim of Tell City; children, Tracy Braun and Wade McKim, both of Tell City; sisters, Enid Kessner of Bristow, and Phillis Gleason of Racine, WI; nine grandchildren, Kelly Hubert, Seth Peckinpaugh, Tiffany Braun, Whitney Harris, Cody Braun, Alexis Braun, Daylin McKim, Rachel Braun and Jessica Braun; seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are brothers, Coy, Marvin and Elden; sisters, Nelda Foster and Janet Hammack.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM CST on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Evanston. Pastor Daniel Gadbaw will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with military rites.. Visitation will be Monday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home from 2:00-8:00 PM and Tuesday from Noon-2:00 PM at the church.
