Leona G. Schwartz, 90, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Oakwood Health Campus.
She was born in Oakland City, IN on July 23, 1923 to the late Herman and Verna (Lueke) Bruggenschmidt. Also preceding her in death are brothers, Max, Joe, John and Mark Bruggenschmidt.
Leona was a 1941 graduate of Tell City High School. She was married n February 6, 1947 to Martin Schwartz at St, Marks. She was a member of St. Paul Church, Daughters of Isabella Nativity Circle 710, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 213 and Oblates of St. Benedict.
Surviving is her husband, Martin Schwartz of Tell City; children, Angela Schwartz of Flint, MI, Barbara (Dennis) Weiserbs of Roanoke, VA, Paul (Kelly) Schwartz of Jasper and Laura (Rick) Titzer of Mill Shoals, IL; eleven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM CST Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at St. Paul Church. Father Dennis Duvelius will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home on Monday from 3:00-8:00PM, with a D of I service at 6:30 PM and Tuesday from 8:30-9:30AM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Cemetery or St. Mark Cemetery.
