Lucille Gengelbach

Lucille Gengelbach, 83, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. She was born July 8, 1932 to the late Casper and Rose (Hagedorn) Harpenau.

Lucille was married on January 2, 1952 to Ernest Gengelbach, who preceeds her in death.

Lucille was a member of St. Pius Church and she enjoyed sewing, needle work and reading. She had worked as a cook at the Das Dutchman and Bunkhouse Saloon in Evanston and the Evanston Post Office.

Surviving are her children, Dorothy Knight (Butch) of Owensboro, Diana Foerster (Darryl) of New Boston, Darla Bland of Noblesville, IN, David Gengelbach of Evanston, Donald Gengelbach (Linda) of St. Croix and Dennis Gengelbach (Gina) of Seymour, IN; sisters, Mary Lou Wheatley of Newtonville, Ruth Esarey of Bristow, Agnes Hosler of Orlando, FL and Teresa Pilfer of Englewood, FL; a brother, Jim Harpenau of Boonville; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Ernest; a sister, Dorothy Harpenau; a brother, Pius Harpenau; grandson, Aaron Foerster.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am CST on Monday, May 16, 2016 at St. Pius Church in Troy. Father Sengole Thomas G. will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-7pm and Monday 8:30-9:15am at the funeral home.

In leui of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Pius Church.
