Marcella Hays, 70, passed away at 11:40 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, due to complications of surgery. She was born March 31, 1942 to the late Frank and Anna (Hauser) Sifrig. Also preceding her in death are brothers, George, Bernard and Clarence Sifrig.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles Hays, of Tell City; sons, Terry Hays of Tell City, Rick (Linda) Hays of Rockport, IN; daughters, Julie (Dave) Hakes of Tell City and Cheryl Hays (Tom Morphew) of Lewisport ,KY; brothers, Walter (Mary June) Sifrig of Chesterfield, MO, James Sifrig of Tell City and Raymond (Marjorie) Sifrig of Valparaiso, IN; sisters, Agnes (Chris) Gruver of Tell City and Anita Fulkerson of New Milford, IL; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Mitch) Terry of Tell City, Christopher (Tasha) Hays of Huntingburg, IN, Matthew Hakes of Tell City, Charles (Ayumi) Hays of Owensboro, KY and Steven (Kayla) Hays of Rockport, IN; two great- grandchildren, Mason Terry and Dante’ Hays
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. and Wednesday 8:30a.m. until service time at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
Marcella will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family wishes to thank the Oncology Department at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
