Marie Kress, 94, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City. She was born December 21, 1917 in Tell City, IN, the only child to the late William and Anna (Keller) Lambeck.
Marie was a 1936 graduate of Tell City High School and belonged to the National Honor Society. She was united in marriage on July 11, 1945 to Victor Kress, who precedes her in death in 2009.
Marie worked in the office of Tell City Furniture from 1936- 1956. For a short time she worked for William Tell Woodcrafters and was Deputy Auditor for Perry County for 6 1/2 years. She retired as the secretary to the principal of St. Paul’s School, after 13 years.
She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and several bridge clubs. She volunteered for the Council of Agencies.
Surviving is her son, Joe Kress and wife, Bev of Rocky Point, IN; two grandchildren, Melissa Ann (John) Sedwick and Katie (Vince) Fields; great grandchildren, John and Carmen Sedwick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2012 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3-8 p.m. and Friday 8:30- 9:30 a.m. at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
