Maytha Weatherholt Obituary

Maytha Weatherholt, 83, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 at Oakwood Health Campus.

She was born in Bristow, IN on May 26, 1932 to the late Radie and Gertrude (Mosby) Roach. Also proceeding her in death is a son, David Weatherholt and brother, Raymond Roach.

Maytha was a 1950 graduate of Bristow High School. She was united in marriage on August 12, 1950 to Charles C. Weatherholt. A native of Bristow, Maytha co-wrote a book about the town of Bristow and was instrumental in establishing the Bristow School PTA and the Bristow Fest. She had owned and operated Roach's General Store in Bristow and was a cook for the Bristow School, and later Perry Central Schools. She was a member of Bristow Christian Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, motor-cycle riding, and traveling to all 50 states.

Surviving are her husband, Charles C. "Charlie" Weatherholt of Tell City; children, Shirley (Dan) Gayer and Tonya (Darwin) Hagerdon, all of Tell City; daughter-in-law, Debra Weatherholt of Tell City; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Alvey, Jason Gayer, Jerrad Epple, Julie Holbrook, Jill Miller, Justin Epple, Amber Greulich and Tessa DeVoy; 19 great-grandchildren, with two on the way.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Brother Bill Grieser and Brother Al Madden will officiate.

Visitation will be Sunday from Noon until 7:00 PM, with an Easter Star Service at 6:00PM, and Monday from 9:00 AM-10:00AM at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cecil Aders Scholarship Fund c/o Bristow Christian Church.
