Mike Backer Obituary
Charles Michael "Mike" Backer, 64, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 at his home.
He was born in Troy, IN on July 12, 1947 to the late Charles and Helen (Zuelly) Backer.
Also preceding him in death is his brother, Rick Backer.
Mike was a U.S. Army veteran. He had worked at Whirlpool Corp. in Evansville for over 20 years. He enjoyed horse races, spending time with his family and his cat, Brodie.
Surviving is his son, Jeremy Backer and wife, Jamie of Tell City, IN; brothers, Ronald Backer of Indianapolis and Tom Backer of Rocky Point, IN; grandchildren, Brittney, Courtney and Kaydi Backer.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery with military rites provided by the
American Legion Post 213. Visitation will be Monday from 2-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
