Mildred D. VanWinkle, 89, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Perry County Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born in Tell City, Indiana on December 19, 1927, daughter of Leo and Margarita Feix Edwards.
She was married to Gilbert VanWinkle on June 22, 1946. They were the parents of eight children.
Mildred is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert; daughter, Tammy Roark; daughter-in-law, Sharon VanWinkle; brother, Kenneth Edwards; and sister, Bertilla Malone.
Mildred enjoyed her family, crafts, working in the yard, and she was an artist.
Mildred is survived by her children, Wade VanWinkle, Brenda (Jim) Goffinet, Mark (Dot) VanWinkle, Lane (Ella) VanWinkle, Renita Lasher, Greg (Andrea) VanWinkle and Brad (Jenny) VanWinkle; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sisters, Juanita Nelson, Marcella Schellhaus; and brother, Leland Edwards.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Monday, April 10 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 – 11 am Monday at the Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Heart Association, or the Cancer Society.
