Morrow C “Tort” Evans, 80, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
He was born in Ezel, KY on September 26, 1932 to Mitchell and Ada (Havens) Evans.
He was married on August 1, 1950 to Marilyn Satterfield, who precedes him in death in 2003. Also preceding him in death is a son, Ronald Evans; grandson, Jason Nelson; his parents and sisters, Carol Dunn Higdon and Ruby Vassmer.
Tort was a Maintenance Mechanic and was retired from General Electric and Alcoa.
He was a member of Local IUE 801. He enjoyed flea markets and auctions, driving and spending time with his great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Alvin (Fran) Evans of Tell City, IN. Karla (David) Jochim of New Albany, IN, Debra (Tim) Bertram of Morgantown, IN, Sherry (Bill) Boyken of Owensboro, KY and Donna (Marty) Dickman of Dale, IN; a brother, Murrel “Nick” Evans of Tell City; sisters, Jewel Sprinkle of Jacksonville, FL and Eva Brenner of Louisville, KY; 12 grandchildren, Natalie Evans and Aaron Evans, Jeremy Jochim, Kelly Nolan, Lisa Thompson, Chè Hiracheta and Aja Hiracheta, Sandy Boyken, Jennifer Kendall, Sara Butterworth, Rachel Griffith and Cherish Nelson; 19 great-grandchildren
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 11, 2013 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Brother Bob Campbell will officiate. Burial will follow in Lilly Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00-7:00 P.M. and Monday 11:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.

We are very sorry for your loss we know he will be missed alot. We will keep all the family in our thoughts and prayers while you are going through this difficult time. Know it will be hard not to have him around just think of all the good memories that you had with him and it will help get you through this.
Im chris sprinkles firstborn daughter…angela…i know jewel was my great grandmother whom Ive never met but it broke my heart to see a distant family member has passed recently… May he rest in paradise and ride along with the wind too
