Nancy Harpenau Obituary

Nancy Harpenau, 73, passed away at 1:15 A.M. on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Perry County Memorial Hospital, after a three year battle with cancer, which she fought with dignity, grace and courage. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

She was born May 24, 1939 to the late William and Mary Ella (Tong) Reisz.

Nancy was united in marriage on September 9, 1961 to Martin Harpenau, who precedes her in death in 1991. Also preceding her in death is a granddaughter, infant Brooklyn Grace Harpenau, five brothers and two sisters.

She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella Nativity Circle 710.

Surviving are her children, Jeff (Lana) Harpenau of Santa Claus, Debbie (Dean) Gengelbach of New Boston, and Lisa (Darrell) Taylor of Troy; sisters, Margaret Payne of Rockport and Sr. Mary Reisz of Nazareth, KY; sister in laws, Elaine Reisz of Tell City and Louise Reisz of Owensboro, KY seven grandchildren, Brandon, Bryce and Alexa Gengelbach, Blake and Beau Harpenau and Cory and Baylie Taylor; and her beloved cat, Patty.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. CST on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Father Dennis Duvelius will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00-8:00 P.M. and Saturday 8:30-9:30 A.M. at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. The Daughters of Isabella will provide a prayer service at 6:30PM at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
