Norbert J. Lindauer, 92, of Troy, IN. passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 at his daughter’s residence near Troy, IN.
He was born May 29, 1925 to Irvin and Ethel (Hicks) Lindauer in Troy, Indiana. Norbert was united in marriage to Elizabeth “Liz” (Russell) Lindauer.
Norbert enjoyed his grandchildren, shooting matches and horses. He was an U.S. WWII Army Veteran. He retired after 50 years from Local 181 Operating Engineers.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Varner of Troy, IN; son, James (Nancy) Cassidy of Troy, IN; brothers, Harry Lindauer of New Boston, IN and E.J. Lindauer of Troy, IN; 6 grandchildren, Krista (Scott) Boehman, Tammy (Dustin) Wilkerson, Jimmy (Kelly) Cassidy, Jenny (Jerry) Chappell, Jessica (Sean) Bugg, Jodi (Brian) Griepenstroh; 15 great-great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grand-child.
Preceding him in death is his wife, Elizabeth Lindauer; sister Dorothea Fraser, Marcy Woods, and Catherine Adams.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Zoercher Gillick Funeral Home with burial at Collins Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3 to 8 pm Monday, August 14, 2017 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home and from 9 to 11 am Tuesday.
