Opal I. (Stein) Foertsch, 94, passed away peacefully October 18, 2017 at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, Indiana with her family by her side.
A native of Spencer County, she was born May 24, 1923. She is the eldest of 7 children of Louis and Mildred (Racine) Stein.
She is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline K. Demlow of Salem, Indiana and Suzanne Rhoden of Alcoa, Tennessee; brothers, Johnny Stein of Lakeland, Florida, Mason Stein of Tell City, IN; sister, Phyllis Silke of Brownsburg, Indiana; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 12 great, great-grandchildren
Preceding her in death are her parents; her loving husband of 51 years, Robert A. Foertsch; son, Marc Robert; brothers, Kermit and Wilfred Stein; and sister, Beatrice Richardson.
Funeral services will be 11 am CST on Saturday, October 28 at St. John’s Lutheran Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. Pastors Deral Rollings, Jeffrey Stuchwisch, and Rodney Schmeltz will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 – 7 pm CST Friday, October 27 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home and from 10 – 11 am CST Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
