Orville Peckenpaugh Obituary

Orville Peckenpaugh, 91, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Millstone on September 28, 1923 to the late Charles Henry and Pearl (Little) Peckenpaugh. Also preceding him in death are his siblings, Grace Stahly, Charles and Owen Peckenpaugh, Imogene Bauer, his twin sister, Opal Hollander and infant, Gladys.

Orville was a WWII Navy veteran. He was married in 1946 to Louise Huff. She precedes him in death in 1993. He had worked at Maxon's for 40 years and was a member of Boilermakers Local 374. He was also a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and American Legion Post #213. He enjoyed woodworking and watching IU basketball.

Surviving is his son, Danny Peckenpaugh, Sr., and wife Sandy of Tell City; grandchildren, Kim Luecke, and husband Jeremy, and Danny Peckenpaugh, Jr., and wife Stephanie, all of Tell City; two great-grandchildren, Darian Oliva and Cole Peckenpaugh; step great-grandson, Reese Morton.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM CST on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Rev. JT Hills will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 2:00-8:00 PM and Saturday 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Indiana University Dance Marathon for Riley Hospital for Children.
