Randolph “Randall” Fischer, 92, passed away of natural causes on February 13, 2017 surrounded by his family. Survived by his wife, Norma, of 58 years, he was born on January 30, 1925 to Rupert and Olive Fischer. He was raised in Tell City with his two brothers, Stanley and Lee Roy. He attended Tell City High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force near the end of WWII.
An entrepreneur, he owned and operated Fischer Shoe Store, The Boat Barn, Tell City Marina, Tell City Party Barge and Tell City Marine Service, until his retirement in 1994. His years after retirement were full of travel to Mississippi and Florida during the winter months. He was an avid fan of boating, golf and sports.
He was united in marriage to Patricia Lillian Patten and was blessed with three children; Bob, Randy and Patricia before her death on November 11, 1956. In 1958 Randall married Norma Lehn. They were blessed with four children; Steve, Mark, David and Angela (Fischer) Webb.
Randall was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Kelly, Cindy, James Randall (JR), Lehn, Ross, Jace, David Jr., Carissa, Catherine, and Christopher. Also, 2 great-grandchildren, Alex and Lauren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia; his parents, Rupert and Olive; brother, Stanley; and daughter, Patricia.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 9:30 – 11 am at St. Paul Catholic Church with a Mass immediately following. A private burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
