Robert D. Davidson, 74, went to be with Jesus, Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 3:30 P.M. at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
He was born February 27, 1939 in Lincoln, IL to the late Otha Harley Davidson and Rozella Irene (Wurtzbaugh) Davidson. Also preceding him in death are brothers, Earl Letterly, Tommy Shelton, Eugene Shelton.
Bob was in the military for 23 years; 13 years as active duty, serving in Korea and Vietnam and later serving in the Army Reserves and the National Guard.
Bob was married August 3, 1962 to Genevieve Graves. He had worked at St. Meinrad Archabbey, Tell City Woodcrafters and DMI of Ferdinand. He was a member of D.A.V. and Huntingburg Outreach Ministry Church where he was the Sunday School Superintendent and led the congregational part of the service which he enjoyed very much.
Surviving is his wife, Genevieve "Lois" Davidson of Bristow; sisters, Florence, Barbara, Carolyn, Janet and Mary Ann; brothers, Harley Floerke, Thomas Rominger; Lloyd Shelton, Jr. and Jerry; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. CST Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Pastor David E. Marcrum will officiate. Burial will be in Bristow City Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00-8:00 P.M. and Tuesday 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
