Ruth Goffinet Obituary
Ruth Goffinet, 87, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Lamar, IN on December 27, 1924 to the late Paul and Lora (Foertsch) Schaus. Also preceding her in death is her husband, Hilarion Goffinet; daughter, Pamela Schwartz; brother, Warren Schaus; sister, Paula Roessler.
Ruth was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and was active in the Women’s Guild and she had been a 4-H Leader. She had retired in 1987 after 30 years with Perry-Spencer Rural Telephone. Ruth enjoyed working in yard, gardening and needle work.
Surviving are grandchildren, Lora Hubert and husband, Chris of Tell City and Matthew Schwartz and wife, Michelle of Noblesville, IN; sister, Laverna Gayer of Tell City; two great grandchildren, Hillary and Ryan Hubert.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Evangelical United Church of Christ. Rev. Carly Stucklen Sather will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical United Church of Christ.
