Ruth Rogier

Ruth Elizabeth Hagerdon Rogier, 85, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at her home in rural Perry Count

She was born in Bristow on September 24, 1928 to the late Jacob and Conna (Hicks) Hagerdon. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Rogier, sisters, Mary and Anna Marie Hagerdon and a brother, Roy Hagerdon.

Ruth was married on August 24, 1948 to Cletus Rogier. A homemaker, she babysat her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, baking, quilting, fishing, visiting with family and friends, playing cards and dominos and attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s events, and taking care of her pets.

Ruth was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church.

Surviving are her children, Mary (Richard) Cassidy and Diane (Jesse) Harrison, all of Tell City, Sharon (Norman) Lange of Ferdinand, Linus (Michelle) Rogier of Branchville, Kevin (Suzanne) Rogier of Branchville and Carol Ann (Rodney) Schwoeppe of Ferdinand; 17 grandchildren, Dawn Lynch, Pamela Cronin, Todd Cassidy, Jaime Cassidy, Cassie Culbertson, Jason Harrison, Amy Rice, Amber Hubert, Conna Coultas, Keith Harrison, Holly Lange, Kristi Dahlquist, Erica Perryman, Adam Rogier, Lindsey, Zach and Alex Rogier; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Hagerdon of Tell City; sisters in law, Regina Lasher and Selma Hagerdon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM CST Saturday, March 8, 2014 at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00-8:00PM CST and Saturday from 8:30-9:45AM CST at the funeral home.
