Thomas (Tommy) E. Davis, 70, passed away to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 12, 2017.
He was born May 4, 1947 to Harold “Big Tom” and Ruth (Amos) Davis in Tell City, Indiana. He was a 1965 graduate of Tell City High School before enlisting in the Army at the age of 16. He was deployed to Vietnam by age 19 proudly and honorably serving with the 1st Calvary Division, 229th Aviation Battalion. Tom was instrumental in the Riverwalk Pier Support Group for Veteran Victims of PTSD. He thoughtlessly gave of himself to other veterans in need, as well as, anyone who could use a hand.
Tom most enjoyed Bible Study with Arnold Murry and the Shepherds Chapel Ministries, and spending time with his lovely bride, Judy, and the family.
He is survived by his wife; his son, Tobias Davis; his stepchildren, Kyra, Silas, Levi, Solomon and Uriah Marcum; his siblings, Bobbi Echstein of Jasper, Gary of Tennessee, Scott of Tell City, Charlie of Cannelton, and Brenda Davis of Tell City; and a granddaughter, Adalynn Marcum.
Preceding him in death are his parents; and siblings, Henry of Tell City and Mary Ruth of Hawesville, KY.
A Celebration of Life will be held for the public from 3 – 6 pm Saturday, August 19 at the Eagles Bluff Overlook Park in Cannelton.
