William G. Kowal, 94, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at Golden Living Center.
He was born in Rossburn,-Manatoba, Canada on October 25, 1917 to the late George and Mary (Zacharko) Kowal.
He had worked for Chicago Stockyards and was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ. He enjoyed dancing.
Surviving is his wife, Alice (Mills) Kowal of Tell City; daughters, Diana (Roger) Bittinger of Plymoth, IN, Ava (Gerard) Kowal- Scanlan of Burbank, IL; step children, Kelly (Suzanne) Faulkenburg of Gold Beach, OR, Janice (Curt) Songer of Dale, IN, Ronald (Brenda) Lloyd, Daniel Lloyd and Nancy (Marty) Wheeler, all of Tell City; Ten grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents and siblings, Michael and John Kowal, Ann Deneka, Lillian Zarebski and Hellen Michalski.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Rev. Carly Stucken Sather will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. and Thursday 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
