William A. Philipps, 88, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at his home.
He was born August 17, 1924 to Henry and Olive (Southwood) Philipps.
William was married on December 24, 1947 to Catherine Marie Boling, who precedes him in death on February 28, 2008. Also preceding him in death are his parents and siblings, George, Hubert, Carl, Bob, Earl and Edward Philipps, and three infants and a grandson, Nicholas Philipps.
William was WWII Army veteran and a retired Boilermaker. He was a member of American Legion Post 213.
Surviving are his children, Steve (Jennifer) Philipps of Evanston, Marcie Philipps of Nashville, TN and Tami (Bo) Rowe of Tell City; a sister, Mary Helen Mosby of Evanston; grandchildren, Derrick (Laura Beth) Philipps, Stephanie Philipps, Shane Philipps, Jami and C.J. Rowe; great-grandchildren, J.P., Jayden and Adeline Kate Philipps
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. CST on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be Saturday, January 26th from 2:00-8:00 P.M. and Sunday 11:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
