Barbara R. Sandage

Barbara R. Sandage, 69, passed away on March 20, 2024, at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN.

She was born on September 20, 1954, in Perry County, IN, the daughter of the late Jay B. “Rusty” and Emma Jean (Montgomery) Rust.

Barb graduated from Tell City High School in 1972. She was united in marriage to Gary W. Sandage on November 20, 1976. They shared 46 years together before his passing in 2023. She had worked as a call center representative at Abbey Press for many years. Barb was a member of the Cannelton American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed fundraising, helping others, shopping for deals, visiting with family, going to Disney World, the movies, and out to eat with friends and family.

Surviving is her daughter, Laura Sandage; sister, Mitzi (Bill) Patmore; brother, John (Teri) Rust; brother-in-law, Ronnie Sandage; her nephews Matt (Kate) Patmore, Jonathan Rust and Justin Rust; and great-nieces, Nola and Maya.

In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Sandage.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
