Meredith Oberhausen Obituary

Meredith A. Oberhausen, 78, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City, IN.

 

She was born in Evansville, IN, on December 18, 1945, to the late Walter “Shorty” and Naomi (Lipp) Becker.

 

Meredith was a 1964 graduate of Tell City High School and had attended some college courses at Indiana State University and Lockyear Business College. On April 14, 1978, Meredith was united in marriage to Mark A. Oberhausen, they shared 37 years together before his passing in 2015.

 

She had worked as a customer service representative for Home Mutual and State Farm Insurance Companies. Meredith was a lifetime member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Tell City Historical Society. She enjoyed her exercise class at New Directions, watching her grandchildren play sports and traveling.

 

Surviving are her daughters, Kim Garrett and husband, Mike, of Cannelton and Christie Ensor and husband, James, of Greencastle; sisters-in-law, Mary Becker of California, Louann Oberhausen of Tell City and Ann Manley and husband, Larry, of Tell City; brother-in-law, John Oberhausen and wife, Pat, of Tell City; grandchildren, Samantha (Max), Drake, Michael (Mackenzie), Bryce, Jhett and Gage; two great grandchildren Blaiklee and Maverick; along with several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, Meredith was preceded in death by her husband Mark Oberhausen, and her brother, Gary Becker.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Monday, April 15, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church. There will be no visitation prior to Mass. A private burial will take place at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery.

 

The family requests that memorial contributions may be made in Meredith's memory to the Tell City Historical Society, St. Paul Catholic Church, The Sam Oberhausen Scholarship Fund through the Perry County Community Foundation or the Stroke Awareness Foundation.
