Eva Delores Montgomery, 95, died at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City on November 6th, her 95th birthday.
A native of Tell City, IN she was born on November 6, 1924, the daughter of the late Charles and Flora (Schmidt) Franz. She was preceded in death by her seven brothers and sisters, Charles Franz, Albert Little, John Little, Chester Little, Paul Franz, Mabel Poehlein, and Marie Franz.
She was united in marriage on June 18, 1949 to Edward W. Montgomery. They were married for 65 years. Ed preceded her in death in 2014.
Eva worked for General Electric for several years after graduating from Tell City High School and eventually retired from Commercial Filters (Parker Hannifin) in 1986 after 23 years. She was one of the first employees Commercial Filters hired after opening a plant in Tell City. Eva enjoyed retirement, traveling, and visiting her two grandsons. The family enjoyed her wonderful cooking and baking skills.
Eva is survived by her daughter, Jane (David) Threlkeld of Punta Gorda, FL and two grandsons, Brad (Holly) Threlkeld, Urbana IL, and Jeff Threlkeld of Evansville, IN. One great-granddaughter, Taleah Threlkeld of Urbana, IL.
Eva was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and is a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Heart to Heart Hospice, or the American Cancer Association.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, Tell City, IN. Visitation will be after 1:00 pm Saturday. The Rev. Jeff McCarn will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
