Wayne L. Sturgeon

Wayne Lavern Sturgeon, 91, passed away November 19, 2019 at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

Born December 16, 1927 in Connersville, IN he was the son of the late Andy Frank and Sarah May Adkins Sturgeon. He married Doris Aders on April 6, 1947 in Bristow, IN. He worked at the Knot Factory, owned a gas station in Rockport, IN. managed a grocery store in Bristow for his brother-in-law, worked at Tell City Chair Company and retired from General Electric in 1989. Wayne was a member of the Bristow Christian Church.

Wayne enjoyed working on his old car and truck, mowing grass and being with family.

He was the founder of the Bristow October Fest Car Show.

Survivors include his wife Doris, daughters, Diana (Paul) Scott of Tell City, Sue (Terry) Hargis of Hawesville, KY , Judy Davis of Cannelton; 11 grandchildren, Richard, Laurie, Lesley Sturgeon, Cindy Green, Brad (Renee) Scott, Martha (David) Thomas, Carrie (Halbert) Jones, Sally Hagis Kozee (Randell) Gregory, Kyle, Kris and Kelcie Davis, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Cecil Dewayne, great grandson Jason Scott and a great-great grandson, Dallas Nichols.

Services will be 11:00 am Friday , November 22, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with burial in Bristow Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 2pm to 8pm and Friday from 9 am to service time.
