Alice Watson, 92, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025, at Brickyard Healthcare in Tell City.
She was born on August 14, 1932, in Tell City, the daughter of James and Ethel (Stephens) Taylor.
Alice was married to Arthur Watson on April 14, 1949, and they shared 63 years together before his passing in 2012. She was a homemaker who enjoyed walking, fishing, going out to eat, taking drives in the country and the time spent with her family and grandkids.
Surviving are her children, Prentice Watson of Gatchel, Dorothy (Terry) Shephard of Hawesville, Jim Watson (Becky Howell) of Gatchel, Ethel Ann (Randy) Racine of Gatchel, Virginia “Jenny” VanWinkle (James McFall) of Gatchel, Patrick Watson of German Ridge, David (Diane) Watson of Gatchel; 14 grandchildren, Teresa Blair, Melissa (Mark) Weinberger, Kenny Shulaw, Jeremy (Amanda) Shulaw, Dominic (Mandy) Bauer, Brian (Amanda) Bauer, Joe (Shannon) Shephard, Chrystal Marciniak, Cody (Jenny)VanWinkle, Brandi VanWinkle (Trent Persohn), Tyler Watson(Katie McFall), Dylan (Maddie) Watson, Matthew Watson, and Andrew Watson; 18 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Watson; a daughter Veronica Dean; grandson, Larry Dean; and a great granddaughter, Nicole Shephard.
Funeral services will be held at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home at 11am on Saturday January 11, 2025. Burial will follow in Lilly Dale Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7pm on Friday, January 10, 2025, and Saturday from 9am until service time at the funeral home.
