Allen Gentry

Allen R. Gentry aka “Big Al”, 59, of Tell City, passed away at home with family and friends by his side on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

Al was born on January 6, 1965, in Louisville, KY to the late Charles “PeeWee” and Anna (Anders) Gentry.

He was a 1983 graduate of Tell City High School and served in the United States National Guard for 16 years. Al was united in marriage to Tammy Modlin on February 4, 2013. He was a mechanic by trade working at Bob's Garage in Lewisport for several years as well as fixing cars for others. Al loved being with his family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Al enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR, and the occasional drink with friends.

Al is survived by his wife and best friend of 11 years, Tammy Gentry; his beautiful daughters, Megan (Adam) Walker and Taylor Gentry; his bonus sons, Bryce (Courtney) Patrick and Keith Patrick; his siblings, Bob (Jayne) Glenn, Gertie (Larry) Lingafelter, Donna Kay VanWinkle, Charla (Don) Evrard, and Robbie (Ashley) Gentry; grandchildren, Maverick, Zeppelyn, Emmalynn, Elijah, and Hudson; along with countless friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, PeeWee and Anna Gentry.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 8:00pm at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
